An item you already own could help someone attend the Appalachian Studies Conference to be held in the Mountainlair from March 17-20. Two donation boxes have been set up in the Downtown Library to collect items for the Howard Dorgan silent auction.
All items collected for the auction will raise funds for conference attendance scholarships for students, community members and people from diverse populations who otherwise may not be able to attend. The fundraising goal is $6,500 Donation boxes are at the Access Services desk in the Library lobby and the West Virginia & Regional History Center on the 6th floor.
Donations can include a wide variety of things such as the following and more:
- Crafts.
- Quilts.
- Woodwork.
- Memorabilia.
- WVU items.
- Pottery.
- Home-canned and baked goods.
- Spirits.
