In a two-part event Feb. 3 and 4, the LGBTQ+ Center will seek to educate the community on legislative updates, as well as how to properly connect with representatives through handwritten letters.
On Thursday, Feb. 3, from 6-7 p.m., the WVU community is invited to get an insider's perspective on what's at stake for the LGBTQ+ community during the current West Virginia legislative session. Led by ACLU West Virginia's Mollie Kennedy, this one-hour Zoom session will be informative and to the point. Registration for this event is required.
As a follow up to this informational session, the LGBTQ+ Center will also host an event at the LGBTQ+ Center Friday, Feb. 4, from noon to 2 p.m. During this special brunch, attendees will learn about what makes for an effective letter to a legislator and receive support in determining who their particular representatives are based on district, regardless of their own political stance. Register in advance to help us plan for refreshments.
