WVU shifting to employment verifications for staff positions effective Feb. 1

In an effort to simplify the hiring process and align with current hiring best practices, West Virginia University no longer will perform reference checks for staff positions, effective tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 1).

Moving forward, the Talent Strategy and WVU Shared Services teams will secure employment verifications as part of the standard background check package for staff positions. This change in process does not affect faculty searches at this time.
