WVU, along with local community veteran support organizations, will hold its annual Pearl Harbor Day Ceremony Tuesday, Dec. 7, in remembrance of the 80th anniversary of the bombing and to honor the brave Americans who fought so heroically on that day.

The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. at the USS West Virginia mast and bell in front of Oglebay Hall. The event will include a 21-gun salute with three volleys being fired at 9:20 a.m. The keynote speaker will be U.S. Army Veteran and distinguished WVU alumnus Forest “Jack” Bowman.

Those wishing to attend the event in person are asked to follow WVU’s COVID-19 safety protocols. Those who cannot attend in person should follow @wvumountaineers and @WVUVeteransHQ on Facebook and @WestVirginiaU and @WVUVeterans on Twitter.
