Eberly College will host a virtual Informational session on applying for the Harriet E. Lyon Professorship in Women’s and Gender Studies today (Nov. 29) at 1 p.m.
Attend to learn more about the professorship, ask questions and hear about the intent/purpose from the creator of the award, Judith Stitzel. In addition, learn about Lisa DeFrank-Cole’s experience as the inaugural recipient and hear a message from the director of Women’s and Gender Studies, Sharon Bird.
The Lyon Professorship is designed to support the dissemination of knowledge sensitive to gender and which places women's concerns, ideas, perspectives and interests at the center of the scholarly and teaching enterprise. The professor will be expected to bring a novel disciplinary perspective to the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies; teach and/or conduct research as an integral member of the Center; participate actively in the life of the Center; and be available regularly to interact with the Center’s students and faculty.
Join the information session on Zoom.
