Food for Fines: WVU to excuse parking citations for food donations

Food for Fines

Get a parking citation excused by donating to WVU Parking Management’s “Food for Fines” food drive. Faculty, staff, students and the general public should donate their items to the first floor of Mountaineer Station Dec. 1-7.

The collection site will be open from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on weekdays.

The food drive will benefit The Rack – our student food pantry – to help students in need.

In exchange for a donation of ten non-perishable food items (12 ounces or more recommended), participants can get a maximum of one unpaid parking citation removed from their account, up to a $20 value.

Parking citations that have already been paid cannot be refunded; however, donations are welcome from those who do not currently have any unpaid parking citations.

Suggested donations include canned meats, vegetables, pumpkin, beans and soup as well as stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, peanut butter, apple sauce, crackers, rice, pasta and other pantry staples. Food items should not be expired.
