Faculty, staff, students encouraged to enjoy WinterFest celebration

Winterfest

West Virginia University invites faculty, staff, students and the surrounding community to celebrate the season of ice and snow.

Winterfest will feature nightly ice skating, photo opportunities inside a giant snow globe, giveaways, snacks, food trucks and various Refresh activities through Dec. 10 at the Evansdale Rec Fields.

The event will be open from noon to 10 p.m. on weekends, from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 5 p.m. to midnight on Fridays.

Registration is required to ice skate. Visit go.wvu.edu/winterfest to register.

WVU students and employees should bring a WVU ID with them along with registration confirmation. Community members will pay $2 per person to ice skate; your purchase will be donated to one of two local charities, Pantry Plus More and the Ronald McDonald House, of your choice at time of payment.

WinterFest is sponsored by Coca-Cola and University Apartments and is part of the Refresh events series.
