WVU Career Services is excited to announce a new robust schedule and upcoming changes. Beginning in spring 2022, all career fairs will be aligned with their career pathway to streamline the process for employers recruiting from disciplines that extend beyond individual Colleges.
“The goal is to structure events around the types of careers for which employers are recruiting instead of around the majors themselves,” said Rachael Conrad, assistant director of employer relations at Career Services.
In addition to the STEM Career and Internship Fair and Agriculture and Natural Sciences Career and Internship Fair pathway-specific events, the former Chambers College Career and Internship Fair and the WVU Career and Internship Fair have been renamed and restructured. In collaboration with the John Chambers College of Business and Economics Center for Career Development, we are introducing the Business and Communications Career and Internship Fair, as well as the Behavior and Social Sciences Career and Internship Fair to the new schedule for spring.
"We were looking for ways to enhance the guest experience for our students and employer partners, and given some of the overlaps in attendees at the Chambers College and WVU Career and Internship Fairs, this was the right strategic move,” said Sarah Glenn, director of Chambers College Center for Career Development.
The Behavior and Social Sciences Career and Internship Fair will also encompass the former Education Career Fair. "In many instances, it falls within this new pathway's fair to best suit the school systems and other employers that come to recruit at WVU. For example, a school system might come to recruit both special education teachers, as well as social workers," Conrad said. "This will benefit our employers and streamline it for students."
