If you haven’t already provided input on the use of Atlassian products across all University systems, please take the Information Technology Services survey by 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19.

ITS is implementing Jira Service Management this fall to replace the current IT self-help tool (it.wvu.edu/help) and is seeking help in developing a long-term strategy for the software suite. There may be a minor change to the way you log into Atlassian cloud products later this fall, when access will require the use WVU’s single sign-on credentials and Duo two-factor authentication. No disruption is expected. However, people with no active employee, faculty or Emeritus retiree role will lose access to the University’s cloud-based Atlassian products at that time.

When Atlassian ends support in 2024 for servers, or on-premises installations of its software, all University apps will need to move to the cloud. ITS is preparing for that requirement and hopes to collaborate with other units to ensure a seamless transition.
