VP Meshea L. Poore expands Let’s Talk series

lets talk

Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Meshea L. Poore is expanding her weekly series of short videos that explore topics centered on helping members of the WVU community live, learn and work together with care and respect for each other.

Starting today, she will also occasionally release longer-form “Let’s Talk With…” videos (around 15 minutes in length) that take a deeper dive. These conversations will explore issues and ideas relevant to building and maintaining an inclusive community.

In this week’s video, released Oct. 21, Poore speaks with Felicia Hooper, behavioral health therapist and BIPOC specialist with the Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services.

“We’ve talked about intersectionality and how our identities are not one dimensional. This is also true for the intersectionality of our wellness,” said Poore. “It’s important that we check in with ourselves and pay attention to our full wellness. Having experts like Felicia Hooper on our campus gives us an opportunity to embrace each of our identities as we navigate through our day-to-day activities.”
