The West Virginia Science Public Outreach Team is recruiting a new faculty advisor for the WVU Student Club Chapter. WV SPOT is a state-wide program operated by the Green Bank Observatory with a dozen of participating universities and colleges that help recruit and train student ambassadors from all majors to deliver science presentations to K-12 schools throughout the state.

WVU Faculty are invited to join an informational session to learn more about the program Sept. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Since the start of WV SPOT in 2013, ambassadors have given more than 800 presentations to more than 25,000 West Virginia youth.

The program is also supported by the West Virginia Space Grant Consortium; research members including the WVU Center for Gravitational Waves and Cosmology, Water Research Institute, and WVU Physics & Astronomy Department; and industry sponsors including Dow, Matric and Northrup Grumman.
