West Virginia University has strengthened its partnership with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to bring faculty and staff better convenience and reduce their travel costs. WVU’s partnership with Enterprise offers many benefits to travelers, including:

  • Competitive rental rates.

  • No fees for one-way rentals to and from Pittsburgh International Airport.

  • Insurance.

  • Pick-up/drop-off services.

To take advantage of these benefits and book your rental car for approved travel, please log on to the MyTravel system.

Enroll in Emerald Club.

All University employees are eligible to enroll in the Enterprise and National Car Rental shared loyalty membership program — called Emerald Club. Emerald Club members will receive enhanced convenience in the car selection and checkout processes, as well as one free rental after seven paid rental days.

Already a member? You can connect your Emerald Club profile to WVU’s corporate contract. Select the “Enroll in the Club” option, then “Accept” the “Terms and Conditions.” Next find and select the “Sign In” option under the “Personal Information” section. Once you complete this step, you will be asked to confirm that you would like to update your profile with the University’s company account.

Have elevated status with another travel program? Once your Emerald Club profile is linked to WVU’s contract, Enterprise will automatically match your status with a car, hotel or airline loyalty program with the equivalent tier in Emerald Club. You also may email the University’s dedicated Account Manager Scott Davisson at Scott.A.Davisson@ehi.com.

Deciding between renting a car and driving your own vehicle? In general, it can be more cost-effective to rent a car versus driving your own vehicle for business trips based on round-trip mileage. WVU strongly encourages renting a vehicle when driving to Pittsburgh International Airport, as well as ground travel of 100 miles per day or more.

Note: This information should be used as a baseline to make a judgment call to help keep the University’s costs down and you productive.

Car rentals also can provide employees with a worry-free way to travel. If you choose to drive a rental car, it could eliminate the potential costs and headaches associated with using a personal vehicle for business travel. Renting a vehicle offers:

  • 24-hour roadside assistance.

  • No wear and tear on your personal vehicle.

  • Current models of reliable vehicles that are constantly maintained.

  • No costs associated with maintenance, breakdowns, accidents, etc.

  • A variety of makes and models to accommodate all transportation needs.

Use Enterprise’s “We’ll Pick You Up” service. This program makes it convenient to rent a vehicle and offers pick-up and delivery service to WVU locations as well as your home (available for round-trip travel only). Hours may vary by location, so be sure to check at the time of reservation. You also may visit www.enterprise.com for a location listing by ZIP code.

Enterprise will call you up to an hour before your reservation to confirm your pick-up time, address and directions. You will be picked up at the specified address and brought to the nearest Enterprise location. You will need a valid driver’s license and credit card to complete the transaction and receive a vehicle.
