Unvaccinated West Virginia University students, faculty or staff who traveled outside of the state over the Labor Day holiday weekend are reminded to follow a 5-day self-quarantine/self-monitoring period.

Also,

  •  Get tested 3-5 days after travel. Testing is available in G44 of the Student Rec Center this week (Tuesday through Friday). No appointment is required. Find additional information about testing for students and employees.

o Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 5 days.

o  If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected.

  • Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms.

  • Follow all state and local recommendations or requirements.

  • Employees who regularly work on campus will be required to use annual leave to cover the quarantine period and should plan accordingly when scheduling out-of-state vacations. During this time, employees may request a remote work assignment from their supervisor. However, a remote work assignment will not be guaranteed based on the college, department or unit’s operational needs.

  •  If a remote work assignment is not available, supervisors are encouraged to review an employee’s annual leave balance in the Applaud HR system prior to approving leave requests related to travel quarantine requirements.

Additional guidance for safer travel is available at the Return to Campus website. Contact returntocampus@mail.wvu.edu with any questions.
