In partnership with the Monongalia County Health Department, West Virginia University is hosting a series of pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics this weekend for students, faculty and staff on the Morgantown campus as well as members of the community Aug. 13 and 14:

  • Friday, Aug. 13

WVU Student Recreation Center (upper gym) – 9 a.m. to noon

Evansdale Residential Complex (Towers) – 1 to 3 p.m.

  • Saturday, Aug. 14

Mountainlair Green – 6 to 8 p.m.

Evansdale Field – 6 to 8 p.m.

No appointment is necessary, and the clinics will offer the Pfizer vaccine. Those who are interested in receiving a vaccine may walk in to any of the pop-up clinics during operating hours.

Vaccines will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and both first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be available. Children aged 12 to 17 will be eligible to receive a vaccine at the clinic if they are accompanied by a legal guardian.

Additional pop-up vaccination clinics may be available next week. Faculty and staff should monitor enews.wvu.edu and their WVU email for the latest. Students should follow students.wvu.edu and look for updates via Unews in their MIX email accounts.

As a reminder, vaccinations are our best defense against COVID-19 and the Delta variant of the disease. The University’s goal is a vaccination rate of at least 80% for students and employees.

If 80% isn't reached by Sept. 1, WVU will develop additional enforcement and safety protocols for those who are unvaccinated. More information is available on the Return to Campus website.

The University also is offering free COVID-19 community testing at the WVU Student Recreation Center throughout the fall semester in partnership with the Monongalia County Health Department.

Testing is offered Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays from noon to 3 p.m. in the Student Rec Center's lower gym.

No appointment is required, and testing is open to WVU students, employees and residents of Monongalia County. Free parking is available in Short Term Lots 4 and 9.

Be sure to wear a face mask and practice physical distancing at the testing site. You also should bring identification (driver's license or proof of address).

Students and employees who need testing outside of normal testing hours may call WVU Medicine Student Health at 304-285-7200 for more information.

Student Health also offers walk-in appointments Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
