As part of ongoing campus enhancement efforts, WVU will be repaving the WVU Coliseum parking lots and installing new lights in parking areas surrounding the facility.
Paving is scheduled to begin Monday, July 26, and will continue through early September.
Once paving is complete, new parking light poles and fixtures will be installed in early October. The existing lights will remain operational until the new lights are installed and energized.
To accommodate these enhancements, certain parking areas at the Coliseum will be taken out of service in a phased approach (see related image):
Lot 1A: July 26–Aug. 13
Lot 1B: Aug 13–27
Lots 2 and 3: Aug. 23–Sept. 2
Main Roadway: Sept. 3–4
Note: The schedule is subject to change due to progress and unforeseen conditions, such as weather.
Beginning Monday (July 26), isolated portions of Lot 1A may be blocked to allow for the installation of underground utilities and localized repairs.
As work continues, large-scale milling and paving operations will require more significant areas of the parking lots to temporarily close. These closures will be announced at least one week in advance.
The first planned closure will take place in Lot 1A from Aug. 9 – 13. Parking in Lot 1A will reopen on Aug. 16.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance our campus and create a welcoming environment for our University community.
