Chad Baker has joined Adventure WV and the Outdoor Education Center as a program coordinator and Garrett Weigel as the new program and operations manager for Adventure WV and the Outdoor Education Center.
Jointly, their roles will coordinate and manage all programs, operations and facilities to include the WVU Challenge Course, WVU Zip-Line Canopy Tour and the Adventure Basecamp Overnight facility housed at the WVU Outdoor Education Center.
Baker will oversee programmatic development for all Outdoor Education Center events and will coordinate the intake and logistical procedures for all custom group programs. He hopes his unique experiences will allow him to further educate the campus community about Adventure WV and the Outdoor Education Center.
Baker received his bachelor of science degree in resort recreation management/ tourism from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and his master’s of science degree in recreation and park administration from Eastern Carolina University. He enjoys spending time adventuring the great outdoors, whether through snowboarding, hiking or partaking in a game of disc golf.
As the new program and operations manager for Adventure WV and the Outdoor Education Center, Weigel will oversee all facility operations and the day-to-day programmatic delivery for programs held at the OEC. He hopes to educate Adventure WV staff and the local community and expand programming with aerial adventures.
Weigel received his bachelor of fine arts degree in theater design and technology and his master’s of public administration from WVU where he gained experience in rope work in theater and outdoor aerial elements. He enjoys spending time outside on land, in the air and on the water.
