Three Potomac State College students have been named Duke Anthony Whitmore/Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Scholars, an annual honor for three students who are selected to become part of PSC history by having their names carved into the Academic Achievement Wall.

In addition to being named a Whitmore/Gates Scholar, Allison Cowgill, a business management major from Romney, has also been named to the President’s List every semester of her academic career, along with being inducted into the Sigma Phi Omega Honor Society.

Bethany Smith, a nursing major from Old Fields, has been recognized for her hard work and dedication to her education. Smith is a member of the Nursing Honor Society, along with being named to the President’s List every semester she attended PSC.

Smith will continue her work at Ruby Memorial Hospital in the orthopedic unit.

Matthew Bane, a biology major from Keyser, is also a member of the Life Science Club, the Chemistry Club, and is frequently named to the PSC President’s List, as well.

The Achievement Wall at PSC was created to recognize the academic and scholarly activities of the College’s students, alumni and faculty.
