AGE-ADAR Scholars Program to host first poster symposium

The Appalachian Gerontology Experiences: Advancing Diversity in Aging Research Scholars Program invites all to attend its first AGE-ADAR Summer Research Program Virtual Poster Symposium from 10-11 a.m. on June 25. 

The AGE-ADAR Scholars Program, funded by the National Institute on Aging, is a two-year research program that trains MSTEM students on aging and health disparities in Appalachia preparing them for future research and health careers. 

Throughout the 2021 summer internship, the Scholars have attended classes taught by Julie Patrick (principal investigator), Amy Fiske, Kristina Hash, and Bernard Schreurs addressing topics related to aging and Appalachia and have examined the relationship between factors that impact aging within the region. 

The poster symposium will showcase the diligent work of the Scholars from over the six weeks.
