Dietitian Dish: Food Sustainability

healthy food

In recognition of Earth Day 2021, WVU Dining Services Dietitian Sina King’s second installment of the Dietitian Dish blog series focuses on a topic that impacts everyone —food sustainability.

Food sustainability — our global food system and the implications of each aspect of it — is a complex issue. However, more supporting evidence has become available in recent years related to this topic and its interrelationship with our environment, economy and social systems.

In her post, King helps to clarify the meanings of common concepts associated with food sustainability and discusses the impact of the world’s food supply chain on the environment. She also describes some simple steps we all can take in our daily lives to promote food sustainability.

As a reminder, new issues of the Dietitian Dish will be posted on the third week of every month.
