Celebrating West Virginia writing for National Poetry Month

poetry celebration

To recognize April as National Poetry Month – which marks its 25th Anniversary this year – the WVU Humanities Center and the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences are sharing a series of recorded poetry readings throughout the month.

Each presenter will read either an original work or other poems that reflect their West Virginia experience and identity.

Readers include WVU faculty, alumni, students and notable Mountain State artists – such as the current West Virginia Poet Laureate, Marc Harshman, who launched the series April 1 by reading his original work, "Not Quite Haphazardly."

Watch the video series on YouTube, and keep an eye on @WVU_Humanities and @WVU_Eberly on social media for some faces you may recognize. If you would like to participate, post your reading and tag these accounts.
