Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Meshea L. Poore continues her weekly series of short videos, exploring topics centered on helping members of the WVU community live, learn and work together with care and respect for each other.
This week’s video, released March 16, addresses human trafficking.
“Human trafficking victims can be any age, race, gender or nationality and they may come from any socioeconomic group,” Poore said. “Traffickers are tricky and manipulative and sometimes can be romantic partners, spouses, and even parents.”
If you believe you are a victim of human trafficking or may have information about a potential trafficking situation, you can contact the U.S. National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or text HELP or INFO to 233733.
The Let’s Talk series, with a new video each Tuesday, will address a diversity of topics, including gender identity, cultural appropriation, and intersectionality.
