The WVU community is invited to explore opportunities in advancing entrepreneurial ideas and commercialization ventures at the third annual Focus Forward: Beyond the Cloud event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 17. Virtually join tech experts, cloud providers and thought leaders, including West Virginia native and Executive Chairman of Intuit, Brad Smith, to explore what’s beyond the cloud and how the NOAA Big Data Project offers promise and potential in West Virginia for decades to come.

The Mountain State is poised to become the epicenter of a multibillion-dollar expansion of our nation’s private weather industry. WVU researchers, students and entrepreneurs are uniquely qualified to take part in this groundbreaking transformation. By utilizing state-of-the-art resources available in WVU’s backyard, we can leverage unparalleled data sets and world-leading supercomputing resources through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration at the I-79 Technology Park in Fairmont.

Focus Forward: Beyond the Cloud is hosted by the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative in partnership with West Virginia University, Vantage Ventures, the West Virginia High Technology Foundation and Marshall University.
