Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in a training to learn how to help counteract the effects of an opioid overdose while waiting for emergency medical assistance to arrive Monday, Feb. 15 from 3-4 p.m. via Zoom. This event is sponsored by WellWVU, Collegiate Recovery and Mon County Health Department
Naloxone, also known as Narcan, can be administered through the nasal passages to someone who is found unconscious from overdosing on heroin or other opioid drugs, including prescription medications such as codeine, fentanyl, morphine and oxycodone. Participants who complete the training will receive a free Narcan kit.
