Jeff Pratt

WVU recently named Jeff Pratt as assistant vice president of Procurement, Contracting and Payment Services and the University’s chief procurement officer.

A native of Bridgeport, Pratt is a source-to-pay and supply chain professional with more than 30 years of cross-industry experience working with clients to identify and achieve best-in-class procurement results.

Most recently, Pratt served as managing director and North American supply chain practice leader at Binder Dijker Otte, an international network of public accounting, tax, consulting and business advisory firms.

In this role, Pratt oversaw BDO’s source-to-pay services design and implementation. He also supported several large-scale efforts focused on global value chain optimization and manufacturing and distribution improvements.

Prior to his time at BDO, Pratt served as executive director of Procurement Practice at Ernst & Young , where he was the firm’s chief knowledge officer for America and a member of EY’s Procurement Leadership Team for America. He also served as EY’s Procurement Financial Services sector lead and Procurement Managed Services lead.

Pratt also has experience serving in a variety of procurement leadership roles at several other consulting firms, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Capgemini SE and IBM Business Consulting Services.

After years of extensive travel to serve clients, Pratt returned to West Virginia in 2010 to be near his family.

“I am both fortunate and proud to have the opportunity to ‘come home’ to West Virginia and be part of the team at WVU,” Pratt said. “I believe the University has been a key driver of the progress I have seen in our state during my lifetime across so many critical areas, including education, economic development, innovation and health care.”

Pratt holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Marietta College and a master’s degree in business administration from Case Western Reserve University.

“I am thrilled to have Jeff join our team. He is exceptionally qualified for the role, and he is the right person to continue the transformation of our PCPS team into a world-class organization,” said Ted Svehlik, associate vice president of Auxiliary and Business Services.
