Brad Smith, WVU presidential honorary degree recipient and former Intuit president and CEO who currently serves as executive board chairman, will be the keynote speaker today (Dec. 3) for the Charleston Area Alliance’s webinar titled Celebration 2020: Trailblazing the Future of the Kanawha Valley.
The event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. via Zoom.
Smith and his wife, Alys, recently provided a $25 million gift, one of the largest in WVU’s history, to fund a new remote worker program, develop world-class recreational infrastructure and expand outdoor educational opportunities through the newly named Brad and Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative. Smith will elaborate on how this contribution will drive entrepreneurship and economic development to the region and our state through promoting an experience-driven lifestyle.
