Faculty, staff and students may be unable to log into any WVU system requiring Login credentials from 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 to 6 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8. Information Technology Services must perform emergency maintenance to ensure the stability of our services before the start of a heavy pre-registration week for students.

Access to many WVU services will be affected during this time, including the Virtual Private Network (VPN), University websites, Portal, STAR, eCampus, Salesforce, FTP and bulk mailing services such as LISTSERV. Applications that use various authentication services (Active Directory, ADFS, sso.wvu.edu, CAS/Shibboleth and DSEE) will also be affected.

IT directors who manage applications that use these services, or services that were affected by a brief outage Thursday night, should be prepared to validate following the completion of this maintenance.

It’s common to see an error message when you try to log in after a system update. If you are unable to log in once this work has been completed, try clearing your browser history, closing your browser and relaunching it. Rebooting your device will also clear a previously cached page. If you still have problems after taking these steps, please call the ITS Service Desk 304-293-4444.
