Starting today (Oct. 19), faculty, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows may register for Shared Research Facilities instrument training for most instruments within SRF.
Those to be trained must have surgical face masks plus face shields to be worn during training in accordance with accepted safety guidelines for COVID-19. Face shields may be ordered using the PPE Request Form on the Mountaineer Marketplace website. Instruments not available for training include the electron microscopes, atomic force microscopes, and Raman because the required personal protective equipment is a significant usage impediment. All new users must first request safety training through SRF’s iLab system. Instrument training requests are also to be submitted through iLab. Scheduling of instrumentation will remain the same as outlined for the fall 2020 semester.
