Refer students to Rest as Resistance workshop

Encourage students to join the Carruth Center’s Claire Barbetti for her Rest as Resistance workshop on Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. How many of us tell ourselves “to be more productive” and feel guilty when we are not? There are links in the ideas of productivity to systems fed by racism, sexism, ableism and ageism, among other “isms” and allowing yourself rest can be an essential part of resisting oppression. This workshop will look at the links between productivity and systems of oppression and feature exercises from the self-care work of Erika Hart (The Nap Ministry) and Sonya Renee Taylor (The Body Is Not an Apology).

Students can register here for the Rest as Resistance workshop.
