Nina DeMarco recently was named director of Customer Care within WVU Shared Services.
In this role, she will focus on leading the Customer Care team in providing a high-functioning customer service experience for faculty, staff and students seeking human resources, financial management and sponsored-project financial management services and support.
DeMarco has more than 17 years’ experience in the human resources and shared services fields. She has been with West Virginia University since 2016 and served in the Talent Strategy and Benefits Strategy areas of Talent and Culture before joining the Shared Services organization’s Customer Care team as a supervisor in late 2019.
Lisa Sharpe, executive director of Shared Services Operations, said, “In the relatively short time Nina has been part of our team, she continually has taken on new challenges with an open mind and a can-do attitude. Nina embodies our Mountaineer Values, and her elevated role reflects our focus on developing and rewarding internal talent within Shared Services.”
“It is both a blessing and a privilege to help other members of the WVU family,” DeMarco said. “Since launching earlier this year, Shared Services has made a lot of progress in improving customer service for faculty and staff and creating efficiencies in systems and processes. I look forward to furthering these efforts in my new role and continuing to build a collaborative trust with our customers at the University.”
DeMarco’s combination of education and experience in marketing, human resources and leading a shared services contact center in both the private and public sectors make her uniquely qualified to lead the Customer Care team. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Wheeling Jesuit College.
