With all of the unexpected changes happening lately, it can be hard to manage stress and anxiety and the tools we used to use to cope may not be available to us anymore, or as helpful. If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed or worried about the future, the Mountaineer Meditators’ group is the place for you.
Dr. Neal Newfield, in conjunction with the Carruth Center, is offering his Zoom, Mountaineer Meditators’ group every Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m. This is a drop-in group, so you can attend one meeting or every meeting.
Each meeting will begin with an experiential practice led by Newfield, followed by a discussion and the introduction of a new skill to practice throughout the week. He will also share additional ways to increase coping and provide space for those who need additional support.
This is a meditation skills group, butNewfield can help provide a referral to the Carruth Center or the Faculty/Staff Assistance Program if a student or faculty/staff member finds themself in need of additional care.
