Libraries serving faculty online

library books

WVU Libraries has closed buildings on campus and will offer only remote services during this time. Here’s some important information about library operations during this time:

• Library fines are suspended during the closure.

• While the Libraries are closed, some essential staff will continue working onsite to make book delivery, ILL, eReserves, and other services possible. We are immensely grateful for their efforts.

• Information about accessing library materials will be centralized on this LibGuide (https://libguides.wvu.edu/instruction_support), which you can bookmark for quick reference. Physical items (books, DVDs, etc.) are still available for use - see LibGuide for instructions.

• Materials on reserve for courses can be made available digitally. To access and add to your course reserves, follow this link: https://reserves.lib.wvu.edu/. The LibGuide includes detailed information about course reserves (https://libguides.wvu.edu/c.php?g=1010876&p=7361256).

• Some vendors and publishers are offering free access to scholarly content. Contact your liaison librarian (https://directory.lib.wvu.edu/liaisons) to learn more.

The Libraries expanded chat hours:
Sunday: 1 p.m.-midnight
Monday through Thursday: 9 a.m.-midnight
Friday: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday: 1-5 p.m.

Faculty, students, and staff can contact librarians for help with collections and services through westvirginia.libanswers.com or by texting questions to 304-220-0919. Please don't be shy about reaching out with questions through any of these channels! If you've always wondered about the little chat box that pops up periodically, now's the time to try. We are here to support your work.

You can follow the Libraries on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for updates, news, and the occasional cameo from some of our librarians' research support crew.
