The West Virginia University Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system will begin demand mode testing on Tuesday (Jan. 28) which will allow passengers to travel directly to their destination without stopping at other PRT stations.
Beginning Tuesday, demand mode testing will occur from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. Testing will occur during these times until Friday, Jan. 31. On Saturday, Feb. 1, testing will occur from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During demand mode testing, passengers should select their desired destination when entering the PRT platform. They should read signage and listen to announcements to ensure they are entering a vehicle traveling to the correct destination.
The potential future implementation of demand mode will allow PRT passengers to travel through campus more efficiently.
We thank you for your patience as we test demand mode.
