The Office of Health Promotion and Wellness will host an Employee WellFest Dec. 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Rec Center. All regular full-time and part-time faculty and staff are encouraged to attend this free event.
The Rec Center will be free Dec. 5 from 6 a.m. to midnight for WVU faculty and staff with a valid employee ID. Employees are invited to take advantage of the many services offered by the Rec Center for the day, including free group fitness classes.
“The health and wellbeing of our employees is extremely important to all of us at WVU,” said Tara Hulsey, vice president of health promotion and wellness. “It isn’t just about getting enough exercise or drinking enough water; we want to focus on all aspects of wellbeing: Are you feeling fulfilled in your job? Do you have a strong support system? Are you able to confidently manage your money? Do you have a sense of purpose? This event is designed to help faculty and staff access resources and information related to whole-person wellbeing, while taking some time to relax and enjoy the many services we have to offer.”
Employee WellFest will feature free blood pressure screenings, craft activities, meditation sessions, healthy snacks and more. Giveaways include WVU basketball tickets, month-long memberships to the Rec Center, and a canopy tour package from Adventure WV. There will be several tables featuring information from groups from across campus and the community, including:
One free 10-minute chair massage per person from massage therapists at Bliss Bliss Bliss will be offered to faculty and staff. Attendees must register in advance.
