Away from his day job in the History Department, Josh Arthurs has a lifelong interest in the Blues. Come and see his band "Arthurs Mashburn Valentine" play a free concert starting at 6 p.m. in the Loft of the Wesley United Methodist Church on Wiley Street Sunday (Nov. 10).
Hailing from far and wide, Arthurs (guitar and vocals), Tim Mashburn (bass) and Patrick Valentine (drums) perform raw, unfiltered blues and roots music. Mashburn is also a Senior Applications Programmer at WVU Health Sciences. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and Hound Dog Taylor, they bring their juke joint sound to Gene’s, Mundy’s, Black Bear Burritos and other venues around Morgantown. Arthurs will also lead a workshop on slide guitar at 3 p.m. in the same venue.
