This holiday season, get one parking citation forgiven by Transportation and Parking’s “Food for Fines” food drive.

Transportation and Parking will excuse one parking citation in exchange for a donation of 10 non-perishable food items (12 ounces or more recommended). Students, faculty, staff and the general public should donate their items to the first floor of Mountaineer Station today (Nov. 4) through Nov. 14. The collection site will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Suggested donations include canned meats, vegetables, pumpkin, beans and soup as well as stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, peanut butter, applesauce, crackers, rice, pasta and other pantry staples.

With this program, a maximum of one unpaid parking citation (up to a $20 value) will be excused. Parking citations that already have been paid cannot be refunded; however, donations are welcome from those who do not currently have any unpaid parking citations.

The food drive will benefit The Rack and The Rack II@HSC student food pantries to help students in need during this holiday season.
