The West Virginia & Regional History Center is celebrating American Archives Month with a free workshop titled “Photographs: Identification and Care” Oct. 26 from 10 a.m.-noon in the WVRHC, located on the sixth floor of the Downtown Campus Library.
WVRHC staff members designed the workshop to help people learn more about their personal photographs and how to care for them. The session will include a brief history of photography and photographic formats as well as tips for care and storage.
Participants are encouraged to bring a small number of personal photographs for assistance with identification of format or questions about care. Attendees will also have time to view the WVRHC’s current exhibit, “Picturing West Virginia: Early Photography in the Mountain State, 1840-1915.”
