Maximize your experience at the Agriculture and Natural Sciences Career and Internship Fair

Agriculture Career Fair

The Agriculture and Natural Sciences Career and Internship Fair, formerly the Davis College Career Fair, will be Wednesday (Oct. 16) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Agricultural Sciences Building. Students are encouraged to attend the Résumé Review and Career Fair Prep session on Tuesday (Oct. 15) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Agricultural Sciences Building and Percival Hall, third floors to make the most of the career fair.

More than 40 employers, including government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and engineering firms will be recruiting students and alumni for internships and full-time jobs at the event. Job seekers can get a professional headshot taken while they are already dressed professionally.

Career fairs offer an invaluable experience of meeting with multiple companies, face-to-face, all in one day. Career Services is here to help students prepare ahead of time, every step of the way with one-on-one coaching focusing on giving them the skillsets they need to get one step closer to a great job or a valuable internship.

Some companies include BrightView, Farm Credit of the Virginias, J2Engineers, Landcare, Mountaire Farms, and Stella-Jones. A full list of the attending employers can be found on Handshake.

“Following the University’s adoption of career pathways for career and professional development, Career Services has moved to align career fairs to follow that model. The Agriculture and Natural Sciences Career and Internship Fair will allow students seeking opportunities in natural resources, agriculture and animal sciences to speak with employers from those industries. We are excited to provide these events that better align with student interest,” said Assistant Director, Rachael Conrad.

To come prepared, students should take the time to research participating employers, prepare an elevator pitch, and wear a professional outfit to make a great first impression.
