Seminar to highlight using machine learning in estimating visual amenity values

Timothy Hamilton

Timothy Hamilton, associate professor of economics at the University of Richmond, will present "A Machine Learning Approach to Estimate Visual Amenity Values" at 11 a.m. Friday (Oct. 4) in 4004 Agricultural Sciences Building.

He will discuss the use of machine learning – or the science that gives computers the ability to learn without being programmed – to estimate the value of a household’s proximity to and view of park-like properties.

The seminar is sponsored by the Division of Resource Economics and Management in the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design.
