Beginner ukulele classes start Sept. 3 through the Community Music Program in the Creative Arts Center. Learn how to read music in the treble clef, count rhythms, pick melodies and strum chords. Learn traditional Hawaiian and American folk songs and popular songs of today. One class, designed for individuals ages 10-to-adult with little to no prior musical experience, will be offered in 45 minute sessions on Sundays or Tuesdays over eight weeks. Two different levels: Beginner and Intermediate. Another class, Beginning Group Ukulele for Kids, ages 6-9, will be offered Tuesday evenings only for 30-minute sessions.
