Piano for Fun for Adults Romantic Summer Sampler

Room with six adults playing piano

If you already play the piano (somewhat or otherwise) there is a great opportunity to socialize with your skills, in the Community Music Program's Piano For Fun Romantic Summer Sampler. Adult keyboard classes begin July 17, at the Creative Arts Center. According to instructor Carol Beall, "the four sessions of Piano For Fun Romantic Summer Sampler will explore Romantic music written for the piano.  Some of the music will be from the Romantic Period of music (i.e. 1800s), and some will be popular music based on romantic themes. Music selections will include both solo repertoire and ensemble music."

Piano for Fun is for adult keyboardists who are interested in playing the piano purely for enjoyment. Lessons are taught in a group setting, enabling students to experience the fun and incentive of learning together with others. The instructor focuses on the abilities of each person within the group and offers suggestions and options so that members can learn within their own comfort zone. Classes will be offered at two levels: I Enjoy Playing Piano (4:15 p.m.) is for those who have quite a bit of experience in piano and enjoy making music with others. I Can Play Piano a Little (5:30 p.m.) is for those who have completed the first level or who have some prior experience.

The Summer course will be held on Wednesday evenings and will run four concurrent weeks. Register early (by July 10) and enjoy an "early bird" discounted price of $55.92. For more information call 304.293.6946.
