Former Native American Studies faculty member Carol Markstrom will be back in Morgantown this weekend for a concert from 6-8 pm Sunday (June 9) in the Loft of the Wesley United Methodist Church at the top of High Street.

Parking (behind Panera Bread) and entrance to the concert are free. The event is family friendly and refreshments are provided.

From the Southwest to the East to the far north of Alaska, audiences have been captivated by Markstrom’s vocals and the storytelling quality of her lyrics that transport to other places, times, and people. Markstrom’s songs tap into Western Roots, Folk, Americana, and Outlaw Country. Her ballads and love songs range from the whimsical to bittersweet, and the beauty of Western landscapes inspires some of her songwriting. Markstrom also writes non-fiction works about Native American history and culture and these inspire her songwriting. She enjoys performing crowd favorites delivering them with a fresh approach.
