WVU Research Computing is hosting three High-Performance Computing workshops at One Waterfront Place throughout the month of July. Each workshop will be a mixture of lectures and hands-on lab time, but if you’re unable to attend in person, you can register to attend remotely via web session.
The first workshop is a basic introduction to HPC for new users, where they can learn how to use clusters. The second workshop will assume some knowledge of scientific programming, but will introduce users to the popular programming language, Python. The third workshop is for those already comfortable with using Python and NumPy, but who want to learn a more practical approach to machine learning.
Although the workshops are free, you must register for each one you want to attend and select either in-person or remote attendance. Only 20 spots are available for the in-person sessions and 50 spots available for the remote, web-based sessions. See an overview of the schedule below and direct questions to helpdesk@hpc.wvu.edu.
Each session is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants are responsible for their own meals and should bring laptops in case the provided workstations are occupied. One Waterfront garage parking will be validated.
