Some exciting changes are coming to WVU Dining Services this summer. While a couple of locations will be closed for renovations, there are still many campus dining locations that will be open for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Renovations

When students arrive on campus this fall, they may not recognize some of WVU Dining’s locations. Construction is underway this summer at several locations to enhance students’ dining experience.

Café Evansdale will be completely renovated and modernized to include action stations that provide more “showtime” cooking. Diners’ meals will be created as they watch! Additionally, Hatfields will transition to a residential dining hall - similar to Café Evansdale – and will have a new modernized look along with action cooking stations.

Jazzmans will be created in the Mountainlair in the space formerly occupied by JACS. Guests will find a coffee shop offering fresh bakery products and an exciting new sandwich menu, as well as convenience store items. Chick-fil-A in the Mountainlair will be renovated and modernized to expand its menu offerings. You’ll still find your favorites, plus more.

Chick-fil-A will be opening in HSC and join Mindful and Burgershop as an option on the Health Sciences area of campus.

Students, faculty, staff and guests will have greater variety in food options amid updated surroundings, and in residential dining facilities, a more interactive experience. Renovations will take place this summer with plans for completion before classes begin.

Locations open over summer

While construction occurs, many other campus dining locations will be open this summer.

While Café Evansdale is undergoing renovations, residential dining will be provided at Evansdale Towers in the Blue and Gold Room (located on the main floor between Lyon and Bennett towers) beginning May 13. It will be open throughout the week from 7-8:30 a.m. for breakfast; 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch, and 4:30-6 p.m. for dinner.

Hours are subject to change; please check WVU Dining’s website and social media for updates about hours each week. Summit Café will also be open intermittently over the summer. Please check the WVU Dining website for hours each week.

At the Mountainlair, beginning May 13, Chick-fil-A and JACS will be open Monday through Friday in May and June, until they close down for renovations in July. Which Wich will be open Monday through Friday all summer. Blue Tomato and Burgershop will be closed in May, and will reopen in June and July. Tres Habaneros will be closed in May, open in June and closed in July.

At The Market at HSC, Mindful Café, Burgershop and Cavanaugh’s will be open Monday through Friday throughout the summer.

For coffee shops and quick-service locations, DaVinci’s, Eliza’s, Bits & Bytes and Waterfront Café will be open this summer starting May 13. Greenhouse Café, Park Place, Lyon’s Den, Summit Grab ‘n Go and Brew ‘n Gold will be closed.
