WVU downtown library

Humans create more than 300 million tons of plastic per year, and 50 percent of it is thrown away after one use, according to Plastic Oceans and other organizations. Learn more about that staggering statistic during an Earth Day panel to be held April 23 at 4 p.m. in the Downtown Campus Library, Room 104.

Panelists Elliott Kellner, associate director of the Division of Plant and Soil Sciences; Jim Anderson, professor of Wildlife and Fisheries Resources; Sharon Ryan, Philosophy professor; and Mike Strager, a representative of Friends of the Cheat, will discuss littering, pollution and their effects on water.
