Join The WVU Humanities Center in Colson Hall 130 on April 12 at 7 p.m. for an engaging discussion with author Emily Wilson.
Emily will present "Translating 'The Odyssey' Again: Why and How?" Here, she will be talking about the process and philosophy behind her most recent translation of this classic.
Emily is a professor in the Department of Classical Studies and chair of the Program in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory at University of Pennsylvania. In addition to "The Odyssey," Emily has published "Mocked with Death: Tragic Overliving from Sophocles to Milton;" "The Death of Socrates: Hero, Villain, Chatterbox, Saint;" and "Seneca: A Life."
She has also published verse translations of Seneca's Tragedies and Euripides.
