Get Moving! Inc. is hosting its Day of Play at the Indoor Practice Facility for ages 4-to-14 March 9 starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 11 a.m. with the singing of Country Roads.
Children will rotate around 10 different stations run by athletes. The stations are set up to promote various athletic activities. Water stations will be spread out throughout the arena. Each child will also be given a take-home bag that includes a bottle of water, healthy snacks and healthy tips.
Throughout the event, there will be professional photography. The photos will be available on the website afterwards. Every child will get a printed photo at the end of the Day of Play. Children will also have the opportunity to obtain professional athletes’ autographs.
This will be the sixth year Get Moving! Inc. is hosting their Day of Play. The organization was founded in 2014 by Reed College professor Elizabeth Oppe. Since then, a series of events have been held in the Morgantown community. The mission of the organization is to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles for children in the Mountain State through the engagement of community youth.
