Adventure WV's spring guided trips are open to current WVU students, faculty and staff as well as immediate family. Any of these can sponsor one person to attend with them.
Adventure WV will take a shuttle to WISP Tuesdays and Wednesdays - one day every other week - at 3:30 p.m. Each trip allows for 10 students. The cost of the trip is $32, which includes both transportation and a lift ticket. Participants can rent ski or snowboard packages from the Outdoor Rec Center or bring their own gear.
Adventure WV also will host cross country ski day trips, downhill ski day trips to Canaan Valley, and ski and snowshoe seminars at Coopers Rock Winter Festival.
If mountain biking is your forte, visit the Wheel Mill or attend a mountain biking seminar at Coopers Rock. Wheel Mill is a 80,000 square foot indoor cycling park with eight rooms offering varying terrain for everyone from beginners to expert riders. The mountain biking seminar at Coopers Rock will teach participants basic skills on beginner trails at Coopers Rock. Participants who are looking for more of a challenge will be able to ride on more challenging trails.
As the weather warms this spring, zip-line through the University research forest at the OEC, backpack Dolly Sods, attend a ladies-only backpacking trip and rock climb at Coopers Rock.
Aerial Adventures at the Outdoor Education center will be held three weekends in April. The zip-line tour lasts four hours and includes seven platforms, four zip-lines, a sky bridge, a sky ladder and a 45-foot rappel.
During the weekend of April 13, get away from campus for a weekend to explore Dolly Sods Wilderness or the Quebec Run Wild Area. The ladies-only backpacking trip will help women from different backgrounds enjoy the outdoors and discuss what it means to be a physically and mentally strong.
Participants who are interested in climbing can learn the basic skills of rope climbing with Adventure WV’s climbing wall site managers. All gear and transportation is provided.
