Carol Kayla retires from the Office of Admissions Jan. 2

Carol Kayla is retiring today (Jan. 2) after 43 years of dedicated service to WVU.  

She has served as assistant director in the Office of Admissions since June 2006. Kayla worked for a short time on NCAA eligibility and graduation reporting and later transitioned into the International Admissions Unit. In this position, she oversaw the admission of all international students.  

She earned her Master of Arts in Education Administration from WVU in 1981 and her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from WVU in 1975. After graduating from WVU, she worked in the Grants and Contracts Office under the Grant Resources Officer. In 1978, she became an Analyst in the Institutional Research Office. Kayla was made an Assistant Director in the Office of Institutional Analysis and Planning in 1987, where she worked prior to the Office of Admissions.  

During her time in the Office of Institutional Analysis and Planning she was a member of the BANNER implementation team and the ORACLE reporting team.

Stuart Wells, of the International Admission Unit, will be the interim assistant director and will assume her responsibilities Jan 3.
