Christian Lopez, a Nashville-based Americana artist hailing from Martinsburg is coming back to his home state in December, making stops at West Virginia University, Morgantown Sound and 123 Pleasant Street.
Lopez will be in Morgantown starting Dec. 3, visiting WVU campus to speak with the students of the Music Industry program, sharing insight from his professional experience. “I love West Virginia. It’s home. I wish I could put that feeling into words, but fortunately everyone knows it,” Lopez commented. Later that night, listeners and viewers can watch him perform on the Morgantown Sound show at 8 p.m. in the Gluck Theatre. This show is free to the public and located inside WVU’s MountainLair. Morgantown Sound can also be found live-streamed on Youtube and social media as well as broadcasted live on U92 FM.
On Dec. 4, Lopez will lead a Songwriter’s Circle and perform at 123 Pleasant Street, an event offered by Mon Hills Records for Music Industry students and open to the public. This event will begin at 7:30 pm. “I am looking forward to finally playing 123’s stage. I’m honored to be part of the circle. Songwriting is the most vital part of our musical universe. A great voice, a great instrumentalist, or even a great band can only flourish if the songs are stellar,” Lopez said.
Mon Hills Records is an independent record label and a professional component of the Music Industry Program at the College of Creative Arts.
