The Office of the Provost has announced that the nomination period for the 2018-2019 James and Karen Caveney Alumni Association Faculty Excellence Award is now open.
The award, established through a generous gift to the WVU Foundation by Dr. James and Karen Caveney, is presented annually to a highly productive WVU faculty from the Morgantown campus to support their research, teaching and service. The $5,000 award can be used for professional development including but not limited to travel, technology enhancements, library resources, and staff or student support.
Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in research and grant acquisition, exceptional and innovative teaching and commitment to the people of West Virginia.
Each college or school may submit one candidate for consideration; the respective Dean’s Office is responsible for their College’s nomination. Nominations for this year’s award will be due by close of business on Monday, January 7th, 2019.
The full memorandum calling for nominations, as well as the full criteria and application components for nomination, can be found on the faculty website’s awards page here.
